T.E.I of Patras was one of the pioneers of the European Community Programs. The T.E.I of
Patras co-ordinates several ICP's through Erasmus and participates in many others. Through
these collaborations about 80 Greek students, each year, pursue their studies in partner
institutes, while at the same time an equivalent number of students from these, come to
us. Through the SOCRATES - ERASMUS collaboration schemes it usual for T.E.I students to undertake post graduate studies in partner institutes especially through the ECTS pilot project .The collaboration of the institute extends to hosting foreign students who wish to carry out MSc or M.Phil projects. The T.E.I of Patras has proceeded into signing bilateral agreements with other universities, on a European scale in order to exchange students, staff members and experience in educational and scientific matters. Through this scheme a number of staff members are exchanged, each year with other institutes. Staff members from other institutes are also welcome for a temporary period, as visiting professors to our institute . One of the policies of the institute is to give its final year students and graduates the opportunity to experience training periods in other European countries by placing them in industries, enterprises or organizations through the LEONARDO programs. In this area the T.E.I of Patras is one of the outstanding members of the European Projects for Technology Transfer Training. Under this program, each year about 30 students from the T.E.I of Patras are placed in other European countries for a period of 6 - 12 months. Under the same policy the T.E.I of Patras participates in TEMPUS with universities and other Higher Education Institutes from Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Rumania, Chechia, Slovakia, Albania etc. The T.E.I of Patras welcomes all colleagues, European Institutes or organizations who wish to set up schemes in education, science or with other development prospective in mind in order to establish sectional networks of mutual interest and benefit . |
