The Degree of Electrical Engineering Department lasts 7 semesters including 6 months practical training . Each Academic year consists of 2 semesters. Each semester consists from a 15 week period .

All first year students are registered in September but half of them attend the Winter semester witch starts the last third of September and the rest the Spring semester which starts at the last days of February .

Each student has to choose the courses for each semester of the study programs  which can cover at the most 45 weekly teaching hours .Usually the student follows the courses of their typical semester.

The department courses are splited in the following groups :

I ) General Compulsory ( GC )

II ) Optional ( OC )

If the subject of a group of General Compulsory courses is relevant and the core of the following assumes the knowledge of the pretended, then this group is composed from the prerequisite and interconnected courses .In this case the student can select a course of such a group if he/she has successfully competed the prerequisite of the group .The group of prerequisite and interconnected courses are presented in the following table :

PREREQUISITE

INTERCONNECTED

Electrotechnology I Electrotechnology II
Electronics I Electronics II
Electrical Machines I Electrical Machines I
Applied Mathematics Automatic Control Systems I & II
Digital Systems Microcomputers
Mathematics I Mathematics II
Electrical Devices Technology Electrical & Electronic Constructions
Electrical Installation I Electrical Installation I

During the semester students are obliged in written or oral exams it the taught so far material or have to present a paper .The evaluation of all the presented results is the progress grade of the course .

After the completion of the 15 weeks teaching period all students have to write final exams in each course.A student in order to successfully complete a course has to get at least 5 in the grating 0-10.The final grade consists of the progress and the written exam grade in the following connection :

Final Grade = Progress x 0,40 + Written exam x 0,60

For the Lab courses there is not a written exam, but the final (progress) grade is given by continuous lab tests and and essays throughout the semester.

Industrial or   practical training is an essential part of the course program and it consists the 7th semester. Students can do this practical training after the 6th semester, if they have passed all the specialization courses, in the private or public sector and in an area related to their specialization and degree.

All students usually in the last semester have to undertake a degree project on a specialized topic within their field under the supervision of a teaching staff member .When the degree project is finished he/she must present it at a council of three members of the teaching staff .The project is considered successfully completed if the student gets the grade 5 or better .

The practical training is supervised by a member of the teaching staff and the students have to be trained in all the firm operations related to his/her specialization .The department is in a continuos contact with the private or public sector ensure that sufficient work places are available .

    Each student who :

I ) Attended and successfully completed all of the courses program

II ) Successfully defended the degree project

III ) Carried out the practical training

is a graduate of the department of Electrical Engineering and gets the degree of TEI - specialization of Electrical Engineering .
